Pale popped up early in the year as yet another London-based alt-pop artist we needed to be keeping an eye on. Combining catchy electronic production with softly nostalgic vocals, their first song “Too Much” (produced by Jas Shaw of Simian Mobile Disco) laid out a pattern that the duo would follow on subsequent tracks. “Fearing Faces” is a little faster-paced and has somewhat of a throwback feel, as it draws from propulsive ’80s synth-pop as much as the electronic pop of the day.
