Ta-ku‘s got his hustle socks on in the Summertime, and we’re not even mad about it. It wasn’t but just a few days ago that the Australian DJ/producer dropped off a playful club joint called “Closet Drake Fans.” Now we’ve got another expertly reworked masterpiece in a touch-up of “Everything About Her,” a track recorded by fellow Aussie artist Oisima featuring vocals from Annabel Weston.
Some of the best remixes we hear are ones that stay within the proper lanes and don’t disfigure an original record in the re-imagination process. That’s precisely what Ta-ku has done with the lead single off Oisima’s forthcoming LP, Nicaragua Nights, due out later this year. He allows the supremely chill cut to remain just that, all while working in a zigzagging aural enhancement around the 1:30 mark that just cinches the entire effort up perfectly.
