We’re still two weeks off from Arctic Monkeys officially releasing their AM LP, but the gritty British rockers have continued to share cuts off the album. We’ve already heard “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?” and “Do I Wanna Know,” but today brings what might be the best of the bunch—the only problem is it might not have made the album’s final cut.
Regardless of where it lands, “Stop The World I Wanna Get Off With You” is a smoldering, steel-toed rock song. Lead singer Alex Turner trades the screams that made him famous for more melodic, sensual tones. It’s a fun track that’s equal parts Spoon and Queens of the Stone Age that complements the previous tracks nicely without treading the same ground.
