Video Premiere: Coco Morier - "Hallucination"

Indie pop singer Coco Morier made a powerful introduction with “Explosions,” and now that she’s teamed up with fellow musicians to found INGRID (the label launched by Lykke Li, Coco, Peter Bjorn & John, and Miike Snow) she’s continuing down the path of music that is as accessible and catchy as it is interesting and honest. Her latest offerring is the video for “Hallucination,” a song off her latest EP, Strangers May Kiss.

On the video:

From taking a hit off an oxygen tank in a snakeskin jacket to discovering a mysterious VHS tape, Coco Morier’s official video for “Hallucination”, directed by Nick Ebeling, is a Lynch-ian inspired cinematic love story that finds itself surrealistically unfolding in reverse. The song is on Coco’s “Strangers May Kiss” EP and was co-written and produced by Pontus Winnberg and Christian Karlsson (Miike Snow) and Magnus Lidehäll.

From the director, Nik Ebeling (creator of Dirt Bike Press):

Coco Morier was the perfect artist to launch our first episode. She’s a genius in so many ways. What was great about this is that we were able to come together and make a film with her as the lead actor. She’s a very cinematic type person on many levels and was more compelling than making a traditional music video which I think this isn’t. I call it a film. From a project perspective our producer showed the film to Ralph Myerz who was compelled by the music and visuals and went to work on a remix. So in a way it seems like our art project is touching other artists to create which has been really cool.
