Mount Kimbie’s “You Took Your Time” is the sort of brooding, hypnotic groove that has come to epitomize the glittering soundscape of their Cold Spring Fault Less Youth LP. No wonder, then, that the Marcus Soderland-directed video is the sort of piece that King Krule was born to narrate.

It’s a supremely English operation, shot in sharp black and white and filmed with a wandering eye to the moody, ramshackle backyards and gray skies of Essex. It’s more than a little melancholy, but like Mount Kimbie themselves, retains an edge that prevents the thing from becoming wholly depressing.
