Janelle Monáe’s Electric Lady doesn’t hit stores until September 10th, but the bright-eyed songstress isn’t letting the wait stop her fans from getting in on a little scintillating Janelle time. “Dance Apocalyptic” is the second single off the album. In this video, as in the last, Monáe takes over a sound stage and turns it into her personal playground. Trumpets blare, colors coordinate, and Monáe’s voice soars over it all.

Since this is her apocalypse, Monáe makes sure to throw in some zombies, floods, and screaming fans to drive home the whole, “we’re all gonna die, let’s just party” vibe that she seems to embody on and off this track. It’s a goofy little look inside the head of one of the most eccentric and original voices out.
