It's one of the more fascinating aspects of the music industry today; the idea that with a click of a button you can now share your material with millions of listeners you previously didn't have access to. After all, look at Justin Bieber; if he didn't upload videos of himself covering Usher and Chris Brown to YouTube he may have never been discovered.

Then there are those covers that are so bad you cringe while watching and wonder why the amateur singers didn't have anyone—not one friend—who was like "under NO circumstance should you share this with the public." Rihanna happens to be one of those artists that people feel really compelled to cover and more often than not, their covers end up in the cringeworthy category. Here are just some of the worst Rihanna covers on YouTube. Hey, they can't all be Vin Diesel.

Honestly, if you're going to post up a half-assed Rihanna cover to YouTube, you might as well throw some decorative color on your face. What this girl lacks in energy and charisma, she makes up for in face paint.

If a guy named GMoney$ ever offers to beatbox via webcam for your Rihanna YouTube cover, just say no. GMoney$ should've toned it down a bit and let this girl have her time to shine, but instead he's like, "TURN MY MIC UP," and then blasts away with his sloppy, saliva-spraying beatboxing. It's not a good look, but what do you expect from a guy named GMoney$ who beatboxes via webcam?

This girl's bandana and voice are pretty on point, but instead of busting any moves she just points at the camera very aggressively. Nobody likes being pointed at, and with this song it changes the whole vibe from, "You can stand under my umbrella" to more like, "YOU, under my umbrella, NOW."

This girl clearly thinks she's a star, and good for her, but she's stuck in the wrong decade. And she's obnoxious.

Girl, if you want people to take you seriously for your voice, you need to stay humble. You come out here with a waterfall of hair coming off your head and big dangly jewels swinging all over the place and nobody will be able to appreciate your desperate, whining voice. *Looks at view count, realizes she has almost 1,000,000 views* Nevermind.

This guy is most definitely not a professional singer, but he has mastered the art of posing for pics, as evidenced by his YouTube cover, which is not a video but a couple of inspiring nature shots. He apologizes for not taking the time to enhance the audio quality, but he had to upload this immediately because when you have nature photos like these ones, you do not keep them to yourself.

You can tell right from the beginning this cover is not going to go well. First off, she's fidgeting around—playing with her hair, trying to find a good spot on the bed—so clearly she's not comfortable. Prime positioning should be established on take one or two, not the final video uploaded. Secondly, the sound is all over the place. Sometimes you can hear the track in the background, sometimes it's barely audible. We're not saying you have to be an audio engineer, but maybe take a minute to test it out, you know? Lastly, she looses the melody, makes up her own pitches, and pauses so many times that by the end you're not at all sure if this girl has actually ever heard "California King Bed" before.

In this guy's head, you know he's thinking he can be the next stud to toss up a YouTube video and become the new boy-star to make it big. So he does what any reasonable person would do and heads to his bathroom and stares creepily into his camera while singing a Rihanna song. Good call bro.
