Berklee-trained, LA-based duo Carousel has spent the last two years honing an appealing brand of dreamy electro-pop, building a considerable presence (both online and in the real world) and refining a readily accessible sound that’s settled nicely on the border of propulsive and ethereal.
Simultaneously airy and driving, new single “Before You” is the sort of above-the-clouds synth pop perfect for movie trailers and sepia tone memories, its rousing synths and echo-soaked vocals every bit cinema on record. It’s a hazier, warmer sound than when last we heard from the duo on “Stay Awake,” a welcome take on established formula that makes for lovely summer listening. Check it out below.
