We’re not celebrating the 4th of July over in the UK, oh no. Instead we’re all too busy drinking a glass of cold stout (or wine, or something similar) and making brilliantly delicate R&B with a garage-influenced backbone. Well, not all of us, but that’s hopefully what Manchester producer Oceaán is doing today, because after playing “Neéd U” about 20 times, I’m in need of more of his music. “Neéd U” combines deft electronic production with airy R&B vocals in a similar, but slightly more subtle, way to Jacques Greene and How To Dress Well’s “On Your Side.”
Of course, Oceaán’s track is arguably even more impressive as it’s the work of just one man, but all comparisons aside, you need this song in your life. Listen below.
