British producer Lil Silva has been moving beyond his trademark gritty, percussive UK funky sound recently, first working with LA-based vocalist Banks on “Work,” and now releasing “No Doubt,” for which he himself has provided vocals alongside London’s Rosie Lowe. The track builds slowly with mellow production leading to gospel style harmonies, then sparks into life with a bouncy breakdown before the vocals make a welcome return for the final quarter.
The surprising and wholly impressive “No Doubt” will appear on Lil Silva’s Distance EP, out August 5 on Good Years.
