Jay-Z Reveals "Magna Carta Holy Grail" Album Artwork In Historic Fashion

None

Jay-Z has talked extensively about “writing the new rules” with the release of his forthcoming album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. Thus far the promotional approach has been somewhat groundbreaking with respect to his Samsung partnership, but even that seemed to lack the hype and momentum of Kanye’s Yeezus rollout, with the iconic video display projections of “New Slaves” around the world and a riveting performance of new material on the SNL season finale.

Just as we were ready to quietly discredit Hov’s creativity and marketing capabilities in this new Wild West of the Internet age, Jigga comes correct with what could be one of the most historic album cover debuts of all time. Currently on display at the UK’s Salisbury Cathedral, is the official artwork for Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail. The image will show for the month of July alongside none other than one of the four surviving original 1215 Magna Carta documents.

As previously reported, eligible Samsung users will have first crack at the new album via their #magnacarta apps at 12:01 EST on July 4. The rest of the world can grab it beginning on July 9.
