Baths - "Ironworks (Blood Diamonds Edit)"

None

Baths—the electronic bedroom project of Will Wiesenfeld—has been infiltrating the mainstream with his misty-eyed, reflective digital ballads. His latest record, Obsidian reflects on failed relationships and emotional mishaps, and “Ironworks” in particular pairs melancholy strings with crispy, sampled beats.

The reworking that Blood Diamonds aka 21-year-old video game designer Mike Tucker gives the track cuts back much of the strings in favor of a simmering bass line and choppy vocals brings a higher energy frequency to the reflective song. For contrast, listen to the original here and check out Blood Diamonds edit below—it’s also available as a free download on the Soundcloud page. Buy Obsidian here through Anticon, you won’t regret it.
