London band White Lies didn’t always create this celestial synth-pop music. For most of their career, the trio has stayed true to their post-punk sound. But their upcoming album, Big TV, is different and you can hear the contrasts most clearly on their single “There goes Our Love Again.” The original features all the makings of a great pop anthem, with dizzying drums and powerful vocals that lead into an undeniable chorus. Now we get an interesting twist on the track thanks to TORN. The dubbed out rework takes away the full, lush instrumentation and adds touches of glitchy synths that give it a dance-ready feel. It’s a transformation that re-energizes the track, but does so without losing the cinematic quality of the song. Big TV will be out August 20, check out the remix below in the meantime.
