At the end of 2013, producer Guillermo Scott Herren aka Prefuse 73 got his hands on a few tracks from the genre-bending, forward-thinking Atlanta band Cloudeater, and he liked what he heard. After spending some time with the music, he picked out some songs he thought would make for a good album and the band finished recording and delivered the tracks to Herren, who put in some post-production work and mixing in New York. The result is Purge, which drops on July 9.
