It’s hard to imagine someone as adorable as CHVRCHES‘ lead singer Lauren Mayberry choosing to cover the angsty material of Rage Against the Machine. But before her days as the electropop trio’s frontwoman, Mayberry was in another band, with whom she recorded her own rendition of Rage’s “Killing in the Name.” The group flips the ferocious song into a graceful and, dare we say romantic, production that’s so original, you’d be hard-pressed to believe it’s the same song.
