PRINTS is the multimedia project from Brooklyn-based music producer and remixer, Alan Wilkis. The project is a multifaceted series of original music, artwork, remixes, and videos being revealed over the course of 2011-2013. The process begins with Wilkis writing an instrumental piece, and then collaborating with one or more vocalists on the track, or “print,” as Wilkis calls it.
For the latest installment, Wilkis enlists Dan from Joywave to assist on the synth-driven “Old-Fashioned Girl” and The Fat Jew to star in the Michael Lawrence-directed video, which ends at a glorious Coney Island dance-off.
If you like what you hear, look out for more from Wilkis and Dan; after the success of “Old-Fashioned Girl” the two have started a new band called Big Data and they’ll start rolling out new material this summer.
