Video: Pharrell Speaks on New Material with Jay-Z, No Doubt, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, and More

MVP of the year (thus far) goes to Pharrell Williams, for being one of the most diligent producers out there right now. After his collaborations with Robin Thicke on “Blurred Lines,” Tyler, the Creator on “IFHY,” and Daft Punk on “Get Lucky,” it appears that The Neptunes producer will have some more new material coming, naming Jay-Z, Beyoncé, No Doubt, Kylie Minogue, Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Busta Rhymes, Jennifer Hudson, and Miley Cyrus as some of his collaborators during a recent interview with Hot 97.

In reference to Jay-Z’s rumored forthcoming album, Pharrell says that “the Rain Man is back,” and goes on to describe one of the beats he made for the project as “a straight-up Stanley Kubrick movie” (for those who didn’t “get” 2001: A Space Odyssey, please don’t let this phase you). Watch his interview, which also includes Pharrell talking about Miley Cyrus’ love for all things rap, with Angie Martinez above.
