Little Daylight - "Name in Lights"

Little Daylight, who has one of the catchiest songs of the year under their belt with “Overdose,” is back with another one. So, how do you follow up such an immediate and effective debut single? Either you match it, you complement it, or you disappoint. “Name in Lights” does not disappoint.

The Brooklyn band’s second song captures a completely different vibe than their first. While “Overdose” was sharp and fiery, “Name in Lights” is breathy and calming without sounding all murky like a lot of the hazy slop that’s muddling up the indie waters at the moment. We’re still figuring out what these newcomers are all about, but so far it’s impressive to hear them balance good songwriting and an accessibility that rarely exists in the indie realm.
