M83’s last album, Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming, had a cinematic quality to it, a sense of grandeur, importance, and purpose that is lacking from many releases, let alone those that stretch across twenty-two tracks and nearly one and a half hours. With that in mind, it makes sense for Anthony Gonzales to score a movie, but to be tapped up to score a Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman featuring blockbuster (alongside Joseph Trapanese who worked on TRON: Uprising) reflects the levels to which the Frenchman has risen.

The soundtrack possesses the shimmering, slow-moving beauty of a glacier, and is a thoroughly excellent listen. Stream it below, in advance of its April 19 release date.
