Anthony Gonzalez of M83 is providing the score for the latest Tom Cruise action flick Oblivion, and this track is named after the film. “Oblivion” also features the vocals of Norwegian singer Susanne Sundfør, who sounds a lot like Florence Welch, but still maybe feels a little unwelcome on top of the familiar swells of the crackling synth wingspan that Gonzalez unfurls on the track. Joseph Trapanese, who composed the score for TRON: Uprising helped score the movie along with Gonzalez. The initial track released in anticipation of the film is called “StarWaves” and has a slower, eerily Twin Peaks influenced rise. Stream both the new release “Oblivion” and “Star Waves” below and look for the soundtrack release via Back Lot Records and the film, which are both out on April 19.
