Youth Lagoon has released another track from his upcoming second album, Wondrous Bughouse, out March 5 through Fat Possum. “Mute” follows on the heels of “Dropla,” the first song released off the new album, and both play with structure and stretch his sound in different ways. While “Dropla” lilts through the hopeful phrase “you’ll never die” focusing specifically on human elements, “Mute” wanders off into much more ambient territory. Both feel expansive, and for Trevor Powers, it doesn’t look like there will be a sophomore slump. Check out his full tour dates below, which end on a high note when he opens for The National at Jay-Z‘s Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
