As reported last week, Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) recently announced a new series of mini documentaries, called H∆SHTAG$, which will look at ”some of the most fascinating themes emerging from the web in recent times, from #cloudrap to #seapunk, #postdubstep to #advancedpop.” The first episode was on modern R&B and pop music, and featured the likes of Miguel and How To Dress Well, and this, the second, is highly recommended for anyone with even a passing interest in dance or electronic music.
RBMA talk to Mount Kimbie, Bondax, Deadboy, Dave Hayes of Soundcloud, and Thristian of Boiler Room about the ever-evolving world of dubstep/garage/bass music, focussing on the omnipresent forum and comment section arguments over genre labels.
