Foals‘ new album Holy Fire was released yesterday, and if you thought, after hearing the danceable rock of “My Number,” that this might be a wholly upbeat affair, the moody, grandiose creep of “Milk & Black Spiders” should disabuse you of that idea. With the video being CCTV footage of the band rehearsing, there is little to distract from what is an excellent song, which is clear proof that Foals have advanced, evolved and expanded their sound massively since 2008’s Antidotes.
