We like Local Natives, especially the inventive visuals for their forthcoming single “Heavy Feet” (out February 18th), and we love Fryars, who’s melancholic “Love So Cold” featured on our Valentine’s Day mixtape of music to cry to, so a hook up between the two sounds like good news. Ben Garrett (the man behind Fryars) mellows things out, adding a gauzy web of electronics that turn Local Natives’ straight up indie rock song (with its undeniably anthemic chorus) into a hazy electronic-pop gem.
