It’s always weird to be introduced to an artist via late night television because it means that the artist must have already achieved some level of fame and it’s like how did that happen without me noticing? Team Coco calls him Britain’s breakout sensation, and from watching this performance and knowing little else, it sounds like he falls somewhere between Arctic Monkeys and Mason Jennings. Jake played Glastonbury in 2011, was given a major label record deal with Mercury, and his self-titled debut reached #1 on the UK charts.
With enough pop appeal to reach the mainstream and enough indie-sounding edge to make it interesting, it sounds like Jake Bugg is on television for good reason. Check out his performance from Conan last night.
