The City and Horses‘ “This Is Manhattan” starts off gently, and it leads into a slight jolt of surprise when the first two words to the song are “holy” and “shit.” But it makes sense—even after living in the city for over a year, I sometimes still look up and think, “Holy shit, this is Manhattan.” The City and Horses’ Marc describes the clip as “an animated romp through Depression era Manhattan with a band of pet friends.” It’s a lighthearted track with a dream-like quality about it and some flute added in for good measure.
