Unknown Mortal Orchestra‘s upcoming album, II, sounds like it was left out in the sun too long. Some call it sun “damage,” but you know that faded look that fabrics get when they’ve been cooked by the sun? That’s the the texture of UMO’s new music. The cracking drums and warm guitars on “So Good At Being In Trouble” almost sound lifted from an Al Green song, and with a gentle melody laid on top, this one feels like a song you’ve been hearing for decades.
