For the next 72 hours, you can download Jamie xx‘s reworking of his band’s “Sunset” for free. In a lot of ways he’s the most interesting part of The xx, fulfilling the role of executive producer for the band and supplementing his reputation with a critically-acclaimed dance music side project. Here, we get a chance to hear what direction he might have taken the song if he was making something purely for the dancefloor. The remix is part of iTunes 12 days of Christmas promotion, and comes with videos for the band’s Tokyo performance of Angels and Coexist single “Chained.” You can grab the free collection here, and stream the Jamie xx edit below.
