Danny Brown Reveals Info On Debut Album "Old"

1.

There’s been a lot of speculation on Danny Brown‘s official debut album, Old (which was previously said to be titled ODB), and Pitchfork has reported on a number of points regarding the project.

First off, it will obviously be released on Fool’s Gold. Danny’s been a proponent of the Fool’s Gold way, so it makes sense that his post-XXX release will come out on the house that A-Trak & Nick Catchdubs built. It’s currently 75% done, with Danny saying that he’s finished his part, and that it’s in the mixing stages.

The line-up of contributors and collaborators is pretty sick; featured vocalists include A$AP Rocky, Purity Ring‘s Megan James, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, and Kitty Pryde. Production comes from the likes of SKYWLKR, Paul White, Darq E Freaker, Oh No, and the mighty Rustie, who ended up helping finish the album at a time when Danny was stuck.

Sadly, while everyone got hype seeing TNGHT and Danny Brown in studio, they did not work together on Old. Danny says they ended up not sending in tracks, but Rustie’s output should help those who want to hear Danny on more of an EDM kick.

No word on when you can expect to buy this one in stores, but this’ll definitely be one to look out for in 2013.
