Washington D.C.’s Obii Say is only 20 years-old, but you might call him a bit of an old soul. At very least, he comes across as mournful and contemplative on the downbeat “Plastic.” Obii packs a lithe flow and a knack for casual storytelling (“I’m on the curb with the killer/ten years before he becomes the killer/for Halloween this year he dressed up as Doughboy/and climbed into his father’s 6-4 with his homeboys”) that make him an intriguing prospect to watch.
