Keythegreight - "Tommy's Theme"

1.

When you’re rapping about illegal activities, you could do a lot worse than to choose a smooth, 70s-tinged instrumental (the sort of sound that Roc Marciano has recently made his stock-in-trade) and reference classically flawed Scarface-rip-off Belly (lovable for its opening scene and lush cinematography, but little else). Chicagoan Keythegreight understands the necessary ingredients and executes with reserved flair on “Tommy’s Theme,” a laid back ode to the crimes that inspire the movies, the movies made about the crimes, and the memorable, archetypal characters from each. Turn that beat up and I dare you to not want to by a fur coat and pretend to be a hustler. Or you can just sit in your room and listen, your call.
