Gunplay Turns Himself in on Robbery Charge, Releases New Song "Rap Sheet"

1.

Facing an outstanding warrant for his arrest on armed robbery and assault charges, MMG rapper Gunplay–most recently in the news for brawling with 50 Cent’s entourage at the BET Awards–reported to prison today, according to Power 105.1’s Angela Yee:

The potential prison stint is a shame for listeners, because the anthemic new track Power 105.1 premiered alongside the announcement, the aptly titled “Rap Sheet,” is easily one of the embattled rapper’s strongest statements since his head-turning appearance on Kendrick Lamar‘s “Cartoons and Cereal.”

Listen to the announcement about Gunplay turning himself in and the premier of “Rap Sheet” at Nah Right.

UPDATE: It appears Gunplay might not be heading to prison, as The Smoking Section reports that will still perform this Friday at the A3C Hip-Hop Festival in Atlanta.

UPDATE PT. 2: TMZ is reporting that Gunplay has turned himself into Miami police custody today:

The warrant was issued in May, listing “robbery” as the offense. No other details about the alleged offense are listed.

Gunplay’s attorney Mike Grieco tells us, “Gunplay voluntarily surrendered today without incident. There’s been an open arrest warrant for armed robbery with a firearm.”

Following the above mentioned brawl, Gunplay’s lawyer advised him to voluntarily surrender to the police.
