They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If so The xx, The Antlers and Beach House would all be pleased to know that Astronauts, etc. take great inspiration from their work. The new group demonstrates this affinity in their single “Mystery Colors,” which as band member Anthony puts it, “features crooning male vocals over a simple, yet compelling, organ and drum machine backing.”
If you’re a fan of the artists mentioned above, definitely give this new tune a spin. It is also vocally reminiscent of a Bon Iver track, which is another definite positive. Look out for the group’s debut EP, Supermelodic Pulp, come September 8th.
