Xaphoon Jones must never sleep. In the past couple of days alone he’s let loose two new remixes for downloads. The first takes on the sunny indie anthem “Trojans” by Atlas Genius and the other is an edit of Foxes’ “White Coats.” Both reinterpretations take similar cues for their structure; affected vocal chops and a lot of bass are the primary characteristics here, making for a dark, muscular atmosphere in both cases. As always, there’s an attention to detail present here that is immediately apparent, although it’s cool to see the typically fun outlook Xaph’s production embodies switched out in the Foxes remix for a far more menacing sound.
