In 1972, music photographer Jim Marshall had the opportunity to document The Rolling Stones American Tour 1972 for Life magazine, following the band from venue to venue, party to studio. CNN Photos has now published 12 of Marshall’s never-before-seen photos of the Stones, highlighting a mellower side of the band as well-known for its members’ illicit drug use as for their talent.
