A lot of genres are opening up in 2012. While hip-hop accepts the weird, pop music is starting to gain a new edge. Coco Morier definitely makes pop music, but it’s not your cookie-cutter, bubbly variety. Instead, she mixes a little post-punk grit in with the danceable, disco-y synths for a pop sound with some teeth.

Coco caught our attention with “Explosions,” and now she’s released her introductory EP, Strangers May Kiss, with the Ingrid Label (Miike Snow, Lykke Li, Peter Bjorn & John). We’ve got an exclusive download of “Shameless” below, and you can check out the whole EP under that.
