Trails and Ways - "Nunca"

1.

It’s been said that nothing is certain but death and taxes. Well, the early summer of 2012 has it’s own little “absolute” trend forming. Try as we might (and not that we’d really want to), it’s becoming impossible to escape the dream pop genre that appears to be washing inland from the coasts. This latest example comes to us from Trails and Ways, who record out of a bedroom studio in Oakland, CA. Their newest single, “Nunca,” has a noisy, upbeat Brazilian groove that was “inspired by a hot June day in São Paulo listening to Drake and Jorge Ben.” South American, bossa nova influences are certainly prevalent and combine well with the airy, hypnotic vocals that glaze the track. Give it a listen below and keep an eye out for the band’s full EP, Trilingual, later this fall.
