You just don’t get this kind of soul anymore. You hear flashes of it sprinkled into popular music from time to time, but Lee Fields is the real deal. With so much new, cutting edge stuff dropping daily, it’s hard to revisit this kind of sound, but when you watch something like this, it almost makes you (me) embarrassed of who our Top 40 icons are and what qualities we’ve left behind.
