Earlier this year, The Black Keys‘ drummer Patrick Carney called Nickelback “shit,” and expressed how disappointed he was that a band like that was representing rock music to the mainstream. Then the bro from Nickelback responded, and it started to look like this may turn into all out rock beef.
The Black Keys sat down with MTV and issued an apology, but it may just end up fanning the flame. “I didn’t mean to single them out, actually,” explains Carney. “It just kind of came out. There’s much worse bands than Nickelback… maybe.”
Then he and singer Dan Auerbach laughed, and no fucks were given.
