When we first heard from Inspired and the Sleep, it was described as “lo-fi lifeguard pop out of San Diego,” and while lifeguard pop isn’t necessarily a thing, it made sense when you hear the excellent “Running.” The next time we heard from them it was a more cutesy, Unicorns-esque cut, and with “Take Pills” they return to their original form with a track driven by shameless percussion and decorated with bass, strings, and a little woodwind action. The track will live on the upcoming album, Teenager.
This is the very first release of the newly founded Hanging Hills Records. Not a bad way to kick things off. Shoutout to new things.
