La Sera – Sees The Light

La Sera is the side project of Vivian Girls bassist Katy Goodman, and while there are stylistic similarities to her main band’s lo-fi indie-pop sound, Sees The Light stands firmly on its own two feet as a solid LP of fuzzy garage-rock based tales of heartbreak and youth.

Rocket Juice & The Moon – Rocket Juice & The Moon

This album from the Damon Albarn led super-group that also includes Flea (Red Hot Chilli Peppers bassist) and renowned Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen, as well as an appearance from Erykah Badu, is more an organic collection of  jams than individual tracks, but if you like your music funky, you’ll definitely want to give this one a listen.

Rusko – Songs

British producer Rusko must have set out to prove that he can make more than the brutally aggressive dubstep that he is mainly known for, and as such, this album will divide his fans. Leaning heavily on Jamaican musical culture, Songs is mostly filled with a futuristic electro-reggae sound, but does comes armed with a few dance floor ready heavy-hitters like “Somebody To Love”.
