Yellow Ostrich - "The Shakedown"

1.

Last month Yellow Ostrich gave us our first taste of the upcoming LP Strange Land, and now the NYC trio is back with a second appetizer which premiered over at Rolling Stone. Guitarist/vocalist Alex Schaaf says The Shakedown” is about imaginary people. These imaginary people must be big fans of chunky guitar riffs, punchy bass, and unexpectedly catchy rhythms that sneak around and wedge themselves into your brain space. Schaaf’s eager and yearning vocal stylings ride on top of the song’s energy, twisting up in unexpected harmonies and landing with an earnest fervor.
