Fresh from London comes D-E-W-L, the latest fairly mysterious musical happening to emerge from that side of the pond. “Red Velvet” is equal parts twisted R&B, glitchy pop, and ethereal musings. It sounds like Jai Paul got together with Miike Snow while James Blake watched through a frosted window. The track stays pretty mellow until it starts to build with almost gospel voices dancing with swirling guitar over a plodding but determined beat. Before you know it, the track is over and you’re ready to hit repeat.
