I know we said that we wish rappers would stop comparing themselves to aliens, but I give Tidus a pass to do whatever the fuck he wants. With the success of acts like Odd Future, Danny Brown, Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, and countless others, the oddballs are the coolest thing in hip-hop right now. It’s a welcomed departure from tired ’90s revivalists and club-anthem drones, and Tidus—in all his oddness—is coming along at just the right time.
