With Youth Lagoon‘s The Year Of Hibernation, Trevor Powers made an album perfect for headphones. It’s got an intimate, bedroom pop feel to it, and it’s the kind of stuff that’s hard to imagine being performed live on a stage. And then you see it performed live on stage.
The live versions of Youth Lagoon songs have a little more oomph to the vocals, but using only the help of longtime friend/guitarist Logan Hyde, the performances capture the spirit of the songs perfectly. Before his show at the Echo in L.A., Trevor and Logan stopped by Origami Vinyl to perform a couple of songs to a small audience.
