Here’s the newest video from OnCue. It’s hard to always put a finger on what sets an artist apart. With so many young rappers claiming next and seeming to be convinced that they’ve already made it, they sometimes fail to put any heart into the music. Lyrics filled with drive, determination, and reality morph into delusions of grandeur. OnCue hasn’t slipped into any of that yet, and his passion comes across. I mean–shit, the dude shaved his head in his latest video. That’s sacrifice. Unless he was already planning to shave his head, but I doubt it, because who plans to shave their head right before winter? That’s backwards.
