Starlight Girls - "The Hunch"

1.

Last time we heard from Starlight Girls it was with the sultry, vintage-inspired “Flutterby.” This time they rock out a little harder. The sweet lady-vocals still take center stage, but backed by big-boned guitars that make their presence known by the end of the song. The Brooklyn band has just finished their album, which should be out next week, and they’re also booking a cross country tour.

In the dusk of 2011, we are stuck with flocks of bands beating this reverb-drenched vintage pop/rock sound to death, but Starlight Girls’ are doing it right. While most bands seem to start with a “style,” these girls/guys showcase–above all else–good songwriting, with their style as an added bonus. Listen/download “The Hunch” below for a price of your choice.
