It’s been some time since Mazzy Star, the band most famous for “Fade Into You,” has come out with new material, but in exactly a week, the alt-rock band will be releasing a new digital single called “Common Burn,” which will include “Lay Myself Down” as its b-side. The band might have taken a little break (it’s been 15 years), but now seems like the perfect time for the band to make a comeback, since their sound is acting as a major influence on so many of the new indie bands (like Dum Dum Girls) in the spotlight today.
According to Pitchfork, a limited-edition vinyl 7″ is also in the works. The single will be the springboard for a tour in 2012 and a new LP, so in the mean time, check out “Lay Myself Down” below.
