M83‘s “Midnight City” is way up there on my Best Songs of the Year list. When the first song you hear from an album is that good, it can be a blessing and curse. We all know how that works.
Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming feels like somewhat of a concept album, but the concept is a dream, and those–like this album–can be a little random. One minute you’re lying in bed with Lykke Li, sipping on red wine, and the next you’re fighting with a half-man, half-deer creature wielding a spear. M83’s album is kinda like that, sonically. Urban Outfitters is streaming the whole thing now. Check it out.
