For his final leak off the Some Dreams Never Sleep EP (available Monday, Oct 3rd via The Hundreds), Gilbere Forte’ links up with Big K.R.I.T. for a serious, soulful cut called “Black Soul.”
Some up and comers are like islands, staying focused on their own grinds and unconcerned with other artists. Not Gilbere . He isn’t afraid to be put place his verse right next to other rappers, like K.R.I.T. here, or like Asher and Bun B on his last remix. It’s a risky move–either you hold your own among dudes that have already proven themselves, or you stand out as the weakest fish in a little bowl. Gibere definitely doesn’t come across weak. Intensity turned all the way up on this one.
